Rhonda's holiday Knitty Gritty episode is airing on DIY Network the week of December 3rd! Check out the link. http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_dkng/
We had so much fun taping this show in 2005, it brings back a lot of great memories. Here are some fun facts about taping a cable TV show:
- It took about 4 hours to tape this 30 minute episode! It may look easy, but sitting there knitting for four hours is hard work!
- Three episodes were taped that day. The fun started at 8:00 AM and didn't end until after 7:00 PM.
- The producers didn't give us set lines to say, we had to think on our feet when Vicki asked us questions. Impressive, huh??
- The cords for our microphones were attached to the sofa. Almost like a leash to keep us from leaving!
- The set is really, really cold! Some of the crew was actually wearing winter coats and gloves. The huge lights kept us fairly warm while taping.
- We were never to look at or talk toward the camera! Vicki is the only person cool enough to talk to the audience.
- The set is designed to be Vicki's loft with all her cool friends hanging out there to knit.
- Our episode was the last to be taped for that season and the cast and crew had a "wrap" party that evening. Unfortunately, we weren't cool enough to get invited. The next morning we saw Vicki in the lobby of hour hotel, not looking her best. It must have been a great party!
